\n2 cups uncooked elbow or straight macaroni\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0
\n3 tbsp. butter or margarine\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0
\n2 tbsp. finely chopped onion\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0
\n2 tbsp. flour\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0
\n1 tsp. salt
\n1\/4 tsp. pepper
\n2 cups milk
\n3 cups shredded cheese
\n1 tbsp. buttered breadcrumbs<\/p>\n

Prepare macaroni according to package directions; drain. In large saucepan, melt butter. Add onion; cook until tender. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Blend in milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Add cheese; stir until melted. Combine macaroni
\nand cheese mixture; mix well. Pour into buttered 2 quart casserole dish. Top with breadcrumbs. Bake in 350 oven until hot and bubbly, about 30 minutes. Garnish as desired.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
